Getting things done - Guerrilla Style!
We are in the middle of our clean water distribution program, and I have Sarah Wallace as one of my main partners here on the ground - call her intriguing if you meet her.  :-)

Sarah and I spend our days out in the rural areas delivering the water systems you've provided, and I have to say, she really makes things happen.  She speaks perfect Creole, understands the needs of the locals, and they all fall in love with her - and this is what it's like when we're out there...

The other day, I asked Gwenn to accompany me on a visit to Pinchinat - Jacmel's largest refugee site - where about 7,000 people live in "tents" fashioned from sticks and rags.  This is also the place I recently met Angelina Jolie (where my excitement made me everything except coherent).  She gave me a hug at the end of our exchange (I think only out of pity for my inability to string three words together in front of her) - yeah, it was overwhelming for me to actually see her in Haiti - which made talking difficult.

ANYWAY, as Gwenn and I walked around, I watched people's faces light up with surprise at hearing this "blanc" ask, in perfect Creole, "How can we help you?"  After speaking with them, Gwenn decided to go home and get packets of diapers from her own orphanage and hand them out to women in the camp.

There's been a wonderful medical team here from North Carolina working at Pinchinat, and they've been kind enough to allow me to spend a bit of time with them - again, amazing work being done here...

Testimonials

I have personally contributed to their projects, and CAA chose Global Colors to launch our volunteer program in South Africa and Mozambique.

I believe the work they do in the U.S. and around the world is commendable, and I strongly endorse the support of Global Colors.
